Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.62%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking , Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT: EURBr ), which rose 4.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT: ADMr ) added 2.47% or 0.08 points to end at 3.11 and Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT: EXCr ) was up 2.21% or 0.12 points to 5.54 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Aegean Airlines (AT: AGNr ), which fell 2.40% or 0.29 points to trade at 11.79 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT: THRr ) declined 1.48% or 0.06 points to end at 3.99 and Ellaktor SA (AT: HELr ) was down 1.45% or 0.02 points to 1.50.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 54 and 19 ended unchanged.

Shares in Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT: ADMr ) rose to all time highs; up 2.47% or 0.08 to 3.11.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.68% or 21.41 to $3,167.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.49% or 0.35 to hit $71.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.17 to trade at $74.66 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 103.50.
