Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.29% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were NOVATEK PJSC (MCX: NVTK ), which rose 5.64% or 65.40 points to trade at 1,225.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX: MOEX ) added 4.47% or 8.65 points to end at 202.34 and Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX: TRNF_p ) was up 4.32% or 53.00 points to 1,280.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX: GMKN ), which fell 0.70% or 0.80 points to trade at 120.00 at the close. Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ) declined 0.34% or 0.03 points to end at 8.92 and GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 1,083.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 124 to 119 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 2.86% to 46.60.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.40% or 44.00 to $3,190.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.67% or 0.48 to hit $70.72 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.23 to trade at $73.49 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.01% to 84.24, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 91.29.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 103.34.
