Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 3.10%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (EBR: SOF ), which rose 7.31% or 15.40 points to trade at 226.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR: ELI ) added 5.33% or 4.15 points to end at 82.05 and Galapagos NV (AS: GLPG ) was up 5.23% or 1.10 points to 22.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ), which rose 0.20% or 0.06 points to trade at 30.18 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ) added 0.54% or 0.24 points to end at 44.90 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR: WDPP ) was up 0.56% or 0.11 points to 19.61.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 87 to 12 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.32% or 39.11 to $3,012.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.71% or 0.43 to hit $61.13 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.12 to trade at $64.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.54% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 103.10.
