Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.12%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumption , Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.12% to hit a new 6-months high.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ), which rose 8.45% or 1.78 points to trade at 22.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF: BEEF3 ) added 4.40% or 0.33 points to end at 7.83 and Auren Energia SA (BVMF: AURE3 ) was up 4.07% or 0.35 points to 8.87 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ), which fell 17.37% or 0.41 points to trade at 1.95 at the close. Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (BVMF: CYRE3 ) declined 5.27% or 1.42 points to end at 25.53 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF: YDUQ3 ) was down 4.13% or 0.61 points to 14.16.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 547 to 386 and 43 ended unchanged.

Shares in Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 8.45% or 1.78 to 22.85. Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) fell to all time lows; down 17.37% or 0.41 to 1.95.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.93% to 32.68.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.85% or 28.34 to $3,320.26 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.76% or 0.48 to hit $63.27 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.05% or 0.20 to trade at $399.00 .

USD/BRL was up 0.09% to 5.69, while EUR/BRL fell 0.19% to 6.46.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 99.40.
