Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.60% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV: LABB ), which rose 6.48% or 1.50 points to trade at 24.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ) added 5.56% or 2.52 points to end at 47.83 and Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) was up 5.21% or 1.18 points to 23.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gruma SAB de CV (BMV: GRUMAB ), which fell 3.24% or 12.76 points to trade at 380.52 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) declined 3.03% or 13.20 points to end at 422.18 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) was down 2.86% or 1.00 points to 33.91.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 126 to 78 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.54% or 18.24 to $3,330.36 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.64% or 0.40 to hit $63.19 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.43 to trade at $66.98 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.38% to 19.51, while EUR/MXN fell 0.60% to 22.17.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 99.37.
